We going after hours.

Pac-12 After Dark engage. Cal football 2016 will be a late night affair for at least half the season. All five games that were announced by the Pac-12 involve late night kickoffs.

Friday, August 26, Hawaii, 7 PM PT, TV TBA: We knew about this one. Cal and Hawaii will actually be kicking off Saturday afternoon in Australia but it’ll be a late Friday night go to start college football in 2016.

Saturday, September 10, at San Diego State, 7:30 PM PT, CBSSN: Cal’s continental debut will have the Bears and the Aztecs tackling late in the San Diego night. These sort of contests are inevitable with the Mountain West television deal, but a late night game in San Diego isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Saturday, September 17, Texas, 7:30 PM PT, ESPN/ESPN2: Cal’s rematch with Texas is going under the stars in Berkeley. This is a game I actually look forward to on this schedule.

Friday, October 21, Oregon, 7:30 PM PT, ESPN: Talk about a late Friday night in Memorial. It should allow for Cal fans to get to the game in time from work, but it will probably deter a great number of the older audience from making it to the game.

Thursday, October 27: at USC, 7:30 PM PT, ESPN: The later start works the other way, asĀ USC fans should find their way to the Coliseum just in time!

Thoughts on the early TV times on the schedule?
