The Miami Central stand out will make his way to Pullman, choosing WSU over a slew of other offers.

For the second time today, WSU has landed a big-time recruit out of Florida. This morning, three-star cornerback Zaire Webb pledged crimson over multiple offers, including one from North Carolina. This evening, four-star wide receiver Anthony White, Jr. from the powerhouse Miami Central chose Washington State over offers from a host of schools, including Illinois, Kentucky, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Army, Navy and LSU.

White, who stands 6’1″ and weighs 160 pounds, is the 13th commit in the 2017 class and the third wide receiver. The consensus four-star receiver committed just days after getting his offer from Washington State, a location his teammate Carmoni Green, a three-star wide receiver, is also considering.

Our own Brian Anderson with his quick thoughts on what White, Jr. brings to the table:

“White Jr. plays in the highly competitive 8A District 13 league down in Florida for what is regarded as a powerhouse program in that state, American High. He’s a rangy 6-1 with really good straight line speed. He displayed some great skill running through traffic in the middle of the field on WR screens, usually getting straight up field after a catch for the most yardage. A few highlights have him sitting in zones during in-breaking routes — slants, digs, posts, etc — showing off a great field awareness, one of the more important traits for a wide receiver in Mike Leach’s offense. White Jr. is a fast kid that torched pretty decent DBs on GO routes and showed real potential to be a playmaker with the ball in his hand after a reception. He tracks well to play outside, fitting a lot of qualities WSU has utilized at Z. This is a really good pick-up for the Cougs and his primary recruiter Coach Shephard, this class is absolutely stacked at wide receiver”.

Big, big day for Washington State in the recruiting world. They’d already made their way into the top 40 on Rivals rankings and White, Jr.’s commitment could continue to move them up other lists. They’ve also got half their class for next February filled out before the ball is even kicked on 2016.
